Aussies used to be a hardy lot, as one would expect from a nation founded to house the outcasts from a more “civilized” society. Sent off to a land where just about every animal is poisonous or a killing machine that would scare the pants off any ordinary person, Australians built themselves a lovely little country filled with strong individualists.
I’m still not going hiking there, of course. I am a scaredy cat.

The laws were already there. The gun laws and the hate speech laws in Australia are already strict but they were not applied equally to Australian citizens as Albo and Minns focussed on the “far right”. In response to a failure of the application of the existing laws the government is just implementing more laws. More laws to control innocent people.
And so, it seems, are the elite of Australia, who have been steadily chipping away at both the identity of Australians as a cohesive and free society and the freedoms that Australians have traditionally enjoyed.

After a horrific mass shooting in the 1990s, Australia yanked away almost all gun rights for its citizens, imposing draconian laws that, for some reason, didn’t seem to apply to Sajid Akram, an immigrant from Pakistan whose son was a known ISIS adherent. Australia is widely described as having the “most restrictive gun laws in the world,” which I suspect is a bit of hyperbole, but captures the intent behind them.

After the Bondi Beach shootings, Australian politicians have focused like a laser beam on going after the real culprits in the horror: ordinary Australians, who will lose even more rights to protect themselves and to speak their minds.
In the wake of the mass shooting attack at Bondi Beach during a Hanukkah celebration, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced a national gun buyback program and proposed new hate speech laws.
While the legislation has not yet been drafted, it is already causing controversy as fears that the laws could be wielded as political weapons emerge. Critics have also said that neither the gun buyback nor the hate speech laws are addressing the root of what led to the terror attack.
“Well, it’s a bit hard for them to actually strengthen the laws. It’s not clear what they’re proposing to do,” Dr. Reuben Kirkham, one of the directors of the Free Speech Union of Australia, told Fox News Digital. “What they’re probably going to try and do is widen it to include a bunch of things that are not to do with hate speech, necessarily.”
Albanese told reporters on Friday that the government was working to “get the laws right” and acknowledged the complexities surrounding the issue. He said, “There are issues of free speech involved in this as well — we want to make sure that these laws don’t get passed and then get knocked over.”
The goal is simple: to ensure that ISIS-inspired extremists feel more welcome. The Australian political class has decided that common-sense Islamist control is a bad idea, so they have adopted the cultural equivalent of battered wife syndrome.
Here’s the Premier of New South Wales:
“We don’t have the same freedom of speech laws that they have in the U.S., and the reason for that is that we want to hold together a multicultural community.”
You can have free speech or you can have multiculturalism. You can’t have both. https://t.co/vCfZaK3k6h pic.twitter.com/7tEYHVfHGo

A quick and dirty summary of battered wife syndrome reveals the similarity:
repeated cycles of violence and reconciliation can result in the following beliefs and attitudes:[13]
- The abused thinks that the violence was their fault.
- The abused has an inability to place the responsibility for the violence elsewhere.
- The abused fears for their life, and/or, the lives of loved ones whom the abuser might or has threatened to harm (e.g., children-in-common, close relatives, or friends).
- The abused has an irrational belief that the abuser is omnipresent and omniscient.
As is so often the case, the perpetrators of the Bondi Beach massacre were “known wolves.” The authorities knew of the danger, but rather than act accordingly, they handed out gun permits in the least permissive country in the West to the very people they had every reason to believe would use them against ordinary Australians.
Perhaps if we appease the abusers, they will love us more!
Australia’s Response to Islamic Terror: SUBMISSION

The response is never to confront the religious ideology driving the violence, but to punish the public: strip citizens of their right to self-defense, muzzle free speech, and criminalize criticism of Islam.
Since that obviously didn’t work, they will double down, because the alternative is to acknowledge that the path they have chosen is going in the wrong direction.
“Diversity is our strength,” right?
BREAKING: The Australian Federal Police confirms it has been tasked as a flying hit squad to target hate speech, significantly lowering the threshold in which it will put ordinary Australians in handcuffs for dissenting views

Well, if Australia wants to continue the experiment in making multiculturalism work, let me make a modest proposal: make the continent the destination for Islamist migrants who have settled in Europe. European countries can rid themselves of the hordes of Muslims who refuse to integrate by shipping them off to Australia, and Australia can enjoy the increased strength that comes from knuckling under to the radical Islamists.
No Albanese, diversity is not a strength.
Diversity is chaos.
Either you come to Australia and accept our way of life, or you pack and go.
This country was built on free speech.

Australians, if they choose to cower in fear and give up their rights to appease people who hate them with a passion, should be happy to welcome the Islamists who have flooded into Europe.

“How can we deport someone for attending a 20 minute police approved protest – that we can’t deport radical is preaching hate in West Sydney?”
Following the Bondi Beach Terror attacks the Australian government has used the crisis to go full on Communist ‼️
It would be a great deal for everybody involved, right? Australians are clearly accepting that they must give up all their rights, and plenty of Europeans have awakened to the fact that they made a huge mistake in opening the migration floodgates.
Call it a natural experiment. If “diversity is our strength,” Australia should become a superpower.
Somehow, I doubt it would, though.
