Two Tier Keir Has a Problem Called ‘Waifu Amelia’ and It Is Screamingly Funny – HotAir

There’s an independent, subversive, England-loving, purple-haired Goth girl taking online, disgruntled Brits by storm, and it’s got the Labour government’s knickers all in a twist.

Her name is Waifu Amelia

Her fictional backstory is that she’s a schoolgirl who deeply loves British flags and culture. Wild child that she looks, Amelia is immensely proud of her country and has a real problem with the state of the United Kingdom as it stands today.

She sees the hordes of immigrants being allowed to pour into the country not as an asset but as an invasion. Amelia resents that any public manifestation of British pride is immediately quashed by a nascent, tyrannical government now preying on its citizens, while indulging and encouraging the worst in the newcomers flooding into the tiny island. The problem with Amelia, according to school officials, is her outspoken and unfiltered views that all of this is wrong.

This fictional teenager has inspired everything from sweetly patriotic anime cartoons, with menacing Big Brother overtones from school teachers…

…to a proud Amelia teaching British history…

…to an absolutely rockin’, IN YOUR FACE AI version that I JUST love [SPICY LANGUAGE WARNING]. All of which has made Waifu Amelia the new mascot of the British nationalist and populist movements.

HI – I’M AMELIA AND I’M ENGLISH AND I LOVE ENGLAND

The bobby wearing a rainbow vest, arresting the old man who is stuttering, ‘What did I do?’ and answering, ‘You tweeted rudely, and you’re under arrest,‘ is a hilarious touch and yet entirely true.

When a brave British reporter literally has to take her own freedom in her hands to ask Starmer, ‘Are we still a Christian nation?’ and what about ‘when we still have 12,000 people a year here being arrested for social media posts.’

You can see how the saucy, sassy, freedom- and England-loving Amelia would become an icon in no time flat.

You can also understand where Starmer and his dystopian group of elitist Wokesters would be having an absolute fit over the sudden emergence of a hip meme-girl they can’t arrest or ban from the country, as they attempt to do to everyone else who crosses them.

What makes it even more stunning to watch as Amelia explodes in popularity is where she originated.

Waifu Amelia is the British government’s own creation and has been around for a couple of years.

The purple-haired pistol was a bit player in a nanny-state online game/novel called ‘Pathways‘ created by the government for ‘youths’ in an effort to teach them about right-wing extremism and thereby warn them off.

…Amelia is a supporting character in the U.K. government-funded educational visual novel Pathways, a game developed by Shout Out UK to teach the youth about extremism and radicalization. In the game, Amelia is depicted as a far-right anti-immigration activist with purple hair, a pink dress, a purple sweater and a goth or e-girl appearance, who tries persuading the protagonist to join her cause.

Amelia was meant to be ‘the far-right, anti-immigration bad girl’ who tries to sway tender and impressionable Charlie to her wrong side of the tracks.

In 2023, Shout Out UK, a company focused on spreading media literacy, political literacy and more via their training programs, released the visual novel “interactive learning package,” Pathways. The game was funded by Prevent, a program of the British government’s Home Office.

In the game, players take on the role of a character named Charlie in six different scenarios dealing with online or in-person radicalization.

Scenario two features the character Amelia, a far-right, purple-haired goth girl with anti-immigration views who tries to recruit Charlie into joining anti-immigration groups and protesting against immigration.

As one Reddit user said:

Answer: uk government made a flash based game aimed at preventing college kids from being radicalised into the far-right. But the game plays like it’s for a 5 year old with learning disabilities, and the characters and actions are so ridiculous and out of touch with the real world, that everyone from both sides of the political spectrum is memeing the sh** out of it.

Amelia is supposed to be the “evil” character that leads your mentally disabled character into ThE WrOnG ChOiCeS.

Talk about a spectacular backfire.

The game also treats doing your own research as a negative.

What was also pretty creepy and only reinforced the appeal of Amelia’s forbidden but altogether understandable sentiments was what the British government had the game’s developers doing – monitoring for responses from those 11 to 18 year olds who were playing for ‘incorrect’ answers, which could lead to possible referrals to state extremist intervention programs.

…The online training course also lists “cultural nationalism” as a belief that could lead to a Prevent referral.

This is madness. It was revealed last year that civil servants had been instructed to monitor social media posts critical of migration.

Amelia sounds like she’s the only one with her head on straight.

Everyone else, including the game, is a tool of Starmer’s Big Brother network.

A state-funded computer game is warning teenagers that they risk being referred to a counter-terrorism programme if they question mass migration.

Pathways is an interactive game designed for 11- to 18-year-old pupils and funded by Prevent, a Home Office programme for tackling extremism.

Young players are directed to help their in-game characters – a white teenage boy and girl – to avoid being reported for “extreme Right-wing ideology” after discussing migration online.

Characters can face extremism referrals if they choose to engage with groups that spread “harmful ideological messages”, or join protests against the “erosion of British values”. Even researching online immigration statistics is portrayed negatively.

Other in-game pitfalls include sharing a video that claims Muslim men, rather than homeless veterans, are being given emergency accommodation.

An in-game meter monitors how extreme the character’s behaviour is. Those who “lose” may be given counselling to deal with “ideological thoughts” or referred to an anti-terrorism expert.

The game was developed with government backing by councils in East Yorkshire over growing concerns about immigration and tensions about migrant accommodation in their communities.

Children in the UK can be labeled a risk and forced into deprogramming courses because of a game that the state developed and monitors for responses that the state does not like.

What in the actual hell?

This month, after dealing with the Starmer government for over a year, Amelia’s voice really began to be heard.

…In early January 2026, Amelia gained attention on X / Twitter surrounding discussions about the game’s portrayal of teenagers as potential far-right extremists. Some people began to celebrate Amelia for her viewpoints.

On January 10th, 2026, Redditor rustybeard made a post to the /r/KotakuInAction subreddit titled, “Pathways, the UK government game about extremism and media literacy,” describing and criticizing the game, garnering over 290 upvotes and 150 comments in three days. One of the top-voted comments reads, “Wait, are you telling me they made the cute goth e-girl the ‘racist’? Do they understand how the internet works?”

That day, two X communities named after Amelia emerged, amassing hundreds of members. Around the same time, a Janitor AI character bot based on Amelia was created.

On January 12th, 2026, X user @Bee_CrayZee posted a piece of fan art showing Amelia asking Charlie if they’ll help her secure a future for the white race, garnering over 19,000 likes in a day.

Naturally, as soon as they realized the potential for populist disaster with the Amelia character, the Starmer government disabled the segment. Overnight, the Amelia section went into infinite-loading mode.

…On January 14th, X user @martianwyrdlord posted a screenshot of the Pathways game stuck on an infinite load screen, writing, “LMAO they disabled the Amelia game,” garnering over 3,300 likes in under a day.

But it was too late.

They hadn’t been fast enough.

And it’s beyond awesome to watch them hoisted…

…by their own perky purple-haired, patriotic petard.
