Trump wants to remake the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool

President Trump has seemingly set his sights on a new renovation project — the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Mr. Trump posted Wednesday on Truth Social a video of various scenes of the Reflecting Pool being cleaned. The video plays the song “Time to say Goodbye” by singer Andrea Bocelli in the background.

Near the end it says, “Make D.C. Beautiful Again.”

“This is the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool before Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and I fix it,” the president posted. “Study it hard because you won’t be seeing this Biden filth and incompetence much longer!”

The Washington Times has reached out to the Department of the Interior for comment.

The Reflecting Pool was completed in 1923, and underwent major renovations between 2010 and 2012. It holds nearly 7 million gallons of water.

Mr. Trump has been laser-focused on making the nation’s capital beautiful.

He established a task force this year to “beautify” the capital. It was directed to create a program that will help restore federal buildings, monuments, statues, parks and roadways, a fact sheet says. It also directs the National Park Service to remove all homeless encampments across the city.

Some National Guard troops deployed in the city have been directed to take on “beautification” efforts, like picking up trash and taking care of landscaping.

Mr. Trump has also made changes to the White House that he says are needed. He paved over the grass in the Rose Garden and added chairs and tables with umbrellas. The East Wing has also been demolished for the construction of a ballroom. Gold appliques have been added to the Oval Office.
