Truck fire on Missouri highway cooks 40,000 steaks past well done

A tractor trailer carrying 40,000 ribeye steaks caught fire Monday on a highway in Missouri, charring its load beyond well done.

The incident occurred on Interstate 44 in Doolittle, Missouri. Video posted by the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District on social media shows the middle of the truck engulfed in flames.

Fire officials said the steaks were a “total loss.”

Officials didn’t say what caused the fire and didn’t mention injuries to the truck’s driver or passersby.

The blaze was the eighth vehicle fire the Doolittle fire district has dealt with in the past three weeks, officials said.
