This, my friends, is poetic justice.
The Nobel Prize committee, which everyone knows would rather amputate and eat their own limbs rather than award Donald Trump the Nobel Peace Prize, awarded it instead to Maria Corina Machado, a very brave opposition figure in Venezuela who has worked tirelessly to oppose the Maduro regime.
A lot of MAGA folks are angry that Trump didn’t get the award, and they have a point, even though the Hamas/Israel/Gaza deal would never have figured into their calculation, even if they would ever consider Trump for the award. Anybody angry at Machado for getting an award that perhaps rightly should have gone to Trump is aiming their fire at the wrong target.
A good time to remind the world that Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Corina Machado has been in hiding in Venezuela since Edmundo Gonzalez won the presidential election in 2024 and Maduro rigged the votes. Machado is risking it all to fight an evil tyrant who also happens to be OUR enemy, so I warmly congratulate her for this recognition of her efforts to free Venezuelans from the Chavez/Maduro junta.
In any case, Machado herself implicitly took a shot at the Nobel Committee. She dedicated her prize to the Venezuelan people and…Donald Trump.

It doesn’t get better than that. Doing so was, indeed, a very savvy move, but it also serves as a rebuke to the credentialed class who hate Trump and love their own sense of virtue and decorum.
Trump, not they, is doing something about world peace, and putting enormous pressure on the tyrannical regime in Venezuela.
🚨Hoy, celebro uno de los momentos más gratificantes de mi carrera.

I take a rather dim view of the Nobel Prize, although the ones aimed at honoring the physical sciences have some merit. While imperfect, given that modern science is more collaborative than it was before it became bureaucratized, honoring scientific breakthroughs and instilling a competitive element into science is not a bad thing.

But the softer Nobels? Come on, man, they are more about virtue signaling than anything else. Sometimes the people honored deserve to be highlighted, and sometimes Yasser Arafat gets a prize.
I don’t know if Machado was, in a small way, trolling the transnational elite, or whether she was merely indifferent to the scandalous nature of her praise of Trump, but the shock effect of her praise of Trump is glorious.
Liberals tend toward the “let them eat cake” attitude; Trump prefers to say of the transnational elite, “let them eat crow.”
