So This Sweet Little Old Lady Had Sign at a Rally in Virginia Yesterday – HotAir

Something has truly and awfully happened to the geriatric set in this country, particularly those who were of a liberal bent in their younger years and have only, instead of mellowing, turned more radical and bitter as age crept up on them and their skin crinkled.





Others, I suppose, could have been Republicans at one time, of the Goldwater Girl generation, who gradually morphed into their liberal neighbor, and then slid off into cantankerous crackpot land.

It seems to me, though, as most of them are a post-WWII generation that was supposed to be better educated, more on the go, and on the ball than any American generation before them, that they shouldn’t be so gullible as a class. So easily influenced and thrown into a panic by the slightest misinformation resembling something they believe is true, whether it is or not.

The worst part about them is how they effortlessly slip into an unhinged, utterly vile old daft wingbat nastiness that would have been unthinkable when they were simply adults. And they surely would have smacked their kids for similar behavior out of the sheer horror that neighbors would think they’d raised complete heathens.

It’s as if they’ve lost whatever reasoning function and impulse control they had.

And they don’t care.

At every protest progressives have organized, especially since Trump took office, it looks as if the blue hairs are schooling out of season.

I can’t figure out if it’s also an effect of the climate change they’re always wailing about.





They even get really feisty at times, using their aging bones as a shield to protect the viciousness of what they’re really doing.

And have the nerve to tell officers doing their sworn duty, ‘SHAME ON YOU.‘

We used to have a little old lady who would shop at the grocery store I worked in as a teen. She was infamous throughout the county for catching the one moment store employees were not with her, then finding a mat or a damp-looking spot on the floor. She’d be on her back so fast, screaming in agony that she’d been ‘tripped by’ or ‘slipped on’ whatever the offender was, and demands for pain and suffering financial compensation (or else) would appear almost as soon as the local ambulance had carted her away for the umpteenth time.

It got so that the second she was spotted tottering across the parking lot, two sturdy bag boys were assigned to hotfoot out, intercept her, and ensure she stayed safe and upright for her entire shopping experience.





She soon quit shopping with us, as the jig was up.

This is what’s happening with the current crop of America’s liberal seniors. They’ve played their simple old bones card with the mask falling away afterward one too many times.

The jig is up.

So when, at a rally outside of the Arlington, VA, school board headquarters yesterday, where they were discussing transgender policy and the Dept of Ed’s threat to cut funding, and Lt Gov Winsome Earle-Sears, was scheduled to speak, a little white haired old lady held aloft a sign, no one in the radically progressive, pro-transgender crowd thought twice about it.

The rational and decent people attending the meeting were appalled.

She seems nice, no?

No.

Neither are her friends. She is not an outlier – she’s a shining example of the depraved seniors who populate and have become the foot soldiers for the progressive movement.

ALL of whom thought her sign was the cleverest thing EH-VAH, until the internet started blowing up on them over its disgusting, racist message directed at a black conservative woman.





And then the protest organizers started sweating bullets.

Guileless Granny immediately reverts to innocent eyelash batting and a meek protestation of just ‘wanting to spark a conversation.’

BUTTER WOULDN’T MELT IN HER MOUTH

How dare you question her utterly pure motives? She did it out of love, not hate, and FOR THE CHILDREN.

Well, Granny, it turns out that there are other tells for just how pure your motives really were.

The professional astro-turfing coffee club you belong to is one of them. Do they supplement your social security to attend these things?

Or you do it out of the kindness of your heart and convictions?





And I don’t care how blue the hair – if the heart is blue, the sign is probably true.

As an article in The Daily Signal says today, Winsome Earle-Sears is an inspiring, historic figure who has been nothing but ignored, marginalized, and disrespected by Democrats, progressives, and their media toadies. The very same media that swoons over grifting nobody, zero accomplishment Stacey Abrams hasn’t done a single feature piece on this remarkable woman and outstanding American.

…In contrast to Earle-Sears, Abrams has never been a lieutenant governor or held statewide elected office (she was a representative in the state House, where she served as minority leader), lost a governors’ race twice, and her organization was fined $300,000 for campaign finance law violations—the largest in Georgia’s history.

Earle-Sears, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who rose from working-class roots, is a historic figure: a black woman, an immigrant, and the first woman of any race to hold this office in the former capital of the Confederacy.

Earle-Sears is the first woman of color to hold statewide office in Virginia, and in November 2001, Earle-Sears toppled 20-year Democrat incumbent Billy Robinson for the 90th district seat in Virginia’s House of Delegates, making her the first black female Republican, first female veteran, and first naturalized citizen to serve in that elected body.





Abigail Spanberger is campaigning with Ralph Northam. Maybe that’s why the racist bluehairs are so comfortable.

…Meanwhile, Earle-Sears’ opponent, Abigail Spanberger, a white Democrat, is campaigning with former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam—another white Democrat who faced calls to resign after a medical school yearbook showed him smiling while wearing blackface and standing next to a hooded person dressed in a white Ku Klux Klan robe.

Blackface is deemed racist by many black Americans. Yet the legacy media—is silent about this double standard.

It’s been driving me crazy that Earle-Sears has been inexplicably trailing so badly for so long, but change is in the air, and not just seasonally, it seems.

And surely yesterday’s exposure to the reality of who they are is going to leave a mark. The actions of the Arlington Democratic Party tell you they know they’ve taken a hit.

Their statement boils down to ‘never saw the woman before in our life, but REPUBLICANS ARE MEAN.’





I sure hope so, that this is the turning point. 

I hope it galvanizes more Republicans to realize what they’ve got on the line if Spanberger wins, and to get out there working against it.

The jig is up.
