A fiery House hearing on biological males in women’s sports got heated when Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) dismantled Democrat witness Fatima Goss Graves, the president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center, over her refusal to define basic biological terms and defend women’s sports.
From the moment she began, Mace made it clear she wasn’t going to tolerate the doublespeak of the radical left.
“Ms. Goss Graves, so-called, quote, ‘expert in women’s rights,’ do you know how many years it took South Carolina to elect its first Republican woman to Congress?” Mace asked, highlighting her own place in history. Without waiting for an answer, she added, “100 years since women got the right to vote.”
She continued her historical frame-up by asking, “Do you know how many years it took The Citadel… to graduate its first woman?” When Graves hesitated, Mace answered: “157 years.”
Then Mace got to the heart of the matter. “In your opening statement today, you said trans women are women. Ms. Goss Graves, what is a woman?”
Graves replied, “A woman is an adult female… A woman identifies as a woman.”
That answer didn’t satisfy Mace. “You say you’re here to defend women, but shouldn’t you be able to define one?”
When asked directly, “Do women have penises?” Graves stumbled. “Uh, so again, I believe that women should be—”
“Democrats have gone crazy,” Mace said, cutting her off. “‘Women can have penises.’ That’s not a thing. That’s not biology. It’s not science, and you sound like a lunatic.”

Mace then pressed Graves on the consequences of allowing men who “identify” as women into girls’ locker rooms. “Should little girls get used to penises in their locker rooms and showers? Yes or no?”
“I don’t even know what you’re talking about,” Graves deflected. “But what I, what I will say is that privacy in locker rooms is extremely important.”
Mace wasn’t buying that. “We’ve heard testimony today about ‘trans women.’ Those are ‘women’ with penises. Those aren’t real women.”
Mace pointed out that Graves once called Trump’s executive order protecting women’s sports “sexist bullying that harms all students.” When asked if it’s sexist to protect women from men in sports, Graves again refused a straight answer.
“Is it sexist to acknowledge basic science? Men and women are built differently. Can’t answer the question,” Mace said. “Does forcing little girls to strip down in front of men in locker rooms harm girls?” she asked repeatedly, specifically requesting a simple “yes” or “no” reply—which she didn’t get.
When Graves accused Mace of being “insensitive and cruel,” the congresswoman fired back with a brutal truth: “Do you support drugging and chopping off kids’ genitals in the name of inclusion? Is that a thing for you? Do you get off on that?”
Again, no straight answer, so Mace tried again.
“When a biological man crushes a girl in a contact sport and sends her to the ER, is that your idea of empowerment? Is that empowering women when a young man beats a girl and takes her, uh, sends her to the ER in a contact sport? Is that empowering women? Is that what that is?”
Mace, undeterred, closed with a defiant message: “We’re not going to let anyone in this country forget what a woman is.”
It’s truly astonishing to watch a so-called “expert” on women’s rights squirm and deflect rather than acknowledge basic biological facts. She couldn’t bring herself to condemn forcing young girls to undress in front of men. She wouldn’t denounce the injuries women have suffered competing against biological males—or the opportunities they’ve lost because of it. How did we get to the point where defending women means pretending they don’t exist?
