A reported insider’s account of the raid on Nicolas Maduro’s safehouse reposted Saturday by White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt has fueled global speculation about a mysterious “sonic” weapon allegedly used by U.S. soldiers.
In a post shared on Ms. Leavitt’s official X account, an unnamed “Venezuelan security guard” describes the use during the Jan. 3 raid of “a very intense sound wave” that left the guards in the compound “bleeding from the nose” and “vomiting blood” as they “fell to the ground, unable to move.”
Ms. Leavitt’s post urges followers to “stop what you are doing and read this,” followed by American flags.
Ms. Leavitt’s repost was originally posted by Mike Netter, a conservative talk show radio personality from California. The original post references an interview of the guard without citing a news organization or reporter.
