It’s the Jews Who Promote Nazi Jeans, You Know – HotAir

I just KNOW I am going to regret this post. But I have something to get off my chest, and I have decided to risk the consequences of doing so.

I hate the term “woke right” because it is confusing, but the phenomenon described by the term is real. There is a subset of “conservative” thinkers–really anti-left thinkers–who are using the tools of critical theory and deconstructionism to promote racialist theories in the service of what amounts to white supremacy.

The rise of such “thinkers” postdates BLM and DEI, ironically, and is at least partly a reaction to it. The rise of anti-white-Christian-heterosexual ideology has created an ugly backlash where these (mostly male) influencers are throwing the racism and sexism back in the faces of the people who hate them.

I expected this, and hate it. The narrative they are fighting is bad, but in fighting that narrative, they have become hateful themselves.

What got me writing about this is, ironically, the Sydney Sweeney jeans controversy. What should be a tempest in a teapot–a few radical feminists going potty over a pun and calling it Nazism–has blown up because the spark hit the dry kindling of woke and counterwoke hatred.

The woke left is complaining that Sydney Sweeney having good jeans is an advertisement for Nazism and eugenics; now some in the woke right are pointing out that the ad is really Jewish propaganda.

How about…Sydney Sweeney is really hot, and sex sells. It’s hard to deny that Sweeney has good genes and looks good in jeans. The fact that a white woman is hot does not mean that women of other races aren’t as well, but here we are.

American Eagle, the ad’s sponsor, has tried woke advertising with fat nonwhite people, and it turns out that fat nonwhite people don’t buy as many jeans as they need to sell. So they tried this, and it is working well. And, I feel confident that its primary customer base has rather bad attitudes toward Nazis.

The anti-woke have to fire back, which is fine, but in doing so, they have to make the whole thing a Jewish conspiracy, apparently. As David Burge pointed out, this is the Horseshoe theory in action, where the extremes of political movements tend to converge closer to each other than to the more moderate people.

Oh…why the Joos? Well, there is this reported fixation of some Jews with marrying shiksas–Gentile women, often blonde–and if you believe that a Jew being with a white Christian woman is miscegenation, then Sydney Sweeney fronting for the Joos is bad. Go figure.

Elijah Schaffer, whom I admit to following to keep in touch with the woke right, sees the Joos and the blacks and all the rest behind every bush, ready to spring up and defile fine white Christian women. Schaffer, who likely refers to Arabs in derogatory terms, seems to prefer them to Joos.

He’s hardly alone. Many woke rightists feel an affinity for Andrew Tate because he disdains women, and Nick Fuentes because he has a silly mustache and gives a simple explanation for why they are unhappy, I guess. Schaffer and Fuentes are linked, by the way.

What unites the left woke and the right woke is that they interpret the world in terms of group identities, class or race consciousness, and even intersectionality. There is a racial, sexual, or some essentialist set of characteristics that determines human worth.

James Lindsey writes extensively about this, and I am struggling to follow his train of thought, although I think he is onto something.

When somebody talks about “High stock” and “hybrids,” I shudder in disgust. It is reductionist–boiling the essence of a person down to a few characteristics that tell you little about a person’s essential worth.

I can see the exact same calculus leading to high-minded explanations for why the “genetically defective,” such as children with Down Syndrome or other characteristics, should be culled from the gene pool. It is Margaret Sangerism.

I don’t object to people like Charles Murray looking into the heritability of IQ, because that is a scientific question that makes us uncomfortable; what I do object to is making moral judgments about human worth based on things like race or IQ, not behavior or character.

It’s too easy to quote Martin Luther King about the “content of one’s character,” but there it is. I know there are people with low IQs I would rather spend time with and rely upon than brilliant people of any race who are arrogant jerks.

“It’s the Joos.” “It’s the blacks.” “It’s the Arabs…” It is all so tiresome. And worthless, since it implies that the solution to our problems is getting rid of the bad people among us. What, we need a race war? No thanks.

I am a firm believer that culture matters, and as a practical matter, there is overlap between races and religions with culture, and hence positive and negative associations. I don’t want to get into deep dive discussions about such things. Rather, when dealing with people, it is best to take individuals as they come.

Some people are good, while others are not. Nobody is good or bad because of their race.

The woke right is still a small fraction of the conservative movement and is generally disdained. I wouldn’t call them particularly influential, except insofar as they are a stain on the rest of us.
