Don Lemon, Leftists In Minneapolis About To FACE Justice? – HotAir

Admittedly, I’ve been following U.S. personnel and asset movement towards the Middle East with a lot more attention, because the coming showdown with the brutal theocracy is coming, and it’s long past time for the mullahs to go.

Being in the news business, though, one can’t help but keep at least one Marty Feldman eye on what’s unfolding in Minneapolis. The shooting of Renee Good was tragic in that it didn’t have to happen, but was destined to end as it did once Good made the conscious decision to disobey lawful orders to leave her vehicle, evade arrest, and plow her car into a federal agent in the process of making her getaway. Nothing funny about that. It was a stupid decision made by a radicalized moron, and now a young child is an orphan in a futile attempt to delay federal officers removing yet another handful of illegal aliens, most of whom have committed additional felonies besides entering the country without permission, from American society.

As the weekend began, there were a couple of other anecdotes, fortunately ones that did not become violent, that made me shake my head and laugh. In one case, a media person was followed around by an anti-ICE team, and was accosted by them after being forced to pull over. Why was he stopped by the mob? Because he was driving a car that looked like it might be an ICE vehicle.

Let that sink in for a moment. The entire premise for the protests in the Twin Cities is because leftists, incited to vigilanteism by Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, are incensed that duly-sworn federal agents are enforcing U.S. immigration law and detaining and removing people in violation of those laws. These leftists believe the fact that federal agents are pulling people over, asking them to show ID, and arresting those that are on their list, is a violation of Constitutional rights. Anti-Trump pundits who are anti-Trump regardless of whatever activity happens are quick to observe that we no longer live in America when people are asked to show their papers.

I’m old enough to remember all the way back to 2020 and 2021, and even parts of 2022 when I could not go to work at night without a piece of paper identiying me as a member of media and therefore exempt from a nightly COVID curfew. I had to show my papers more than once. I also remember that year having to carry around a paper card that had dates and stickers from the batch of COVID vaccines dosed. And if I didn’t have at least two line items on that card, I could not fly, I could not enter a restaurant or virtually any other public indoor space. So much for Constitutional protections then, I guess. The leftists were not rioting in the streets about government overreach then. They were too busy burning down cities becuase of police action against George Floyd.

But the grand hypocrisy in Minneapolis, at least until Sunday, was that in order to protest federal agents doing their job by checking ID’s and rooting out illegal immigrants, street mobs, armed with whistles and whatever implements of destruction they can get their hands on, randomly pulled over people they suspect could be a federal agent, forcing them to show their ID to prove they’re not law enforcement.

Objectively, if this is the beginning throes of the second American Civil War, it’s setting up to be the stupidest fight ever, because deploying the exact tactics you’re protesting, without the benefit of having the rule of law behind you, is spectacularly ridiculous, and should be mocked with derision.

One ICE agent pulled over to a person documenting a protest on video by explaining to the camera that the person they were here to apprehend was a convicted child sex offender. Who is the mob trying to protect? The convicted child sex offender, naturally. They want Barabbas. Why? Because to them, ICE is worse. That’s what Frey and Walz, and their allies on the left in media and the Democratic Party, have created.

Mayor Frey went on CNN with Jake Tapper Sunday and promised the protests would continue until ICE left. That’s right, the mayor of an American city is powerless to maintain law and order, and won’t even try, until the federal government abandons actual law and order.

Ponderous rocker Bruce Springsteen did not follow the Laura Ingraham mantra of “Shut Up And Sing”, and offered this at a recent concert.

Well, I might want to suggest this scene as more of a Gestapo tactic than anything The Boss could conjure.

Last year, the leftist mob was hunting Jews. In too many pockets of the country, that disgusting practice is still ongoing. But now in Minneapolis, if you are conservative in public, the mob will hunt you down in the streets, too.

This guy in Saint Paul got so spun up about reports that ICE was in the area that he went out front with this bad boy.

Didn’t Governor Walz want to take all those things away? He seems to be pretty quiet about these images.

Speaking of Walz, a couple weeks ago, he made this prediction.

Apparently, the memo on the left circulated that whatever tactic people like Walz speculated would be used by ICE should now be used against ICE, or anyone who gives aid and comfort to federal agents.

Everything changed in Saint Paul on Sunday morning at Cities Church. Every Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30, hearts, minds, and voices focus on Jesus Christ. Except for today, when the focus was also on…Don Lemon.

Operating under the suspicion that one of the pastors of the church might also be an ICE agent the rest of the week, protesters, led by fired CNN penultimate idiot Lemon (penultimate meaning second-worst idiot, with Jim Acosta winning the gold medal), sidelined the service. No God for you today, because the protesters, like Don Lemon, believe they have a Constitutional right to make Christians uncomfortable.

Notice that nowhere in Lemon’s despicable intrusion of worship of Jesus on God’s day is he at all concerned about the desecration he’s committing. He’s there for eyeballs and YouTube clicks. This is how desperate he’s become after losing his CNN job. He couldn’t find the pastor, so he’s accosting Christians there to worship and hijacking the Lord’s day in order to force worshippers to confront federal immigration policy enforcement that has been on the books for decades.

Oh, wait, he found the pastor.

I love at the end how he says he’s a Christian, too. I am here to tell you that as a Christian, I believe, as do most Bible-believing Christians, that the Holy Spirit gives you discernment. Discernment is very different from judgment. I have no idea what will be the temperature of the locale holding Lemon’s soul when it embarks from this Earth. That’s for God to judge. My discernment, however, convinces me Lemon is not a Christian, and is either knowingly or unwittingly acting as an minion of Satan. I can’t recall the last time I saw something so appalling and ignorant.

Lemon claims he has a Constitutional right to protest and assemble. Not on private property, he doesn’t. And thanks to the 1994 Freedom Of Access To Clinics Entrances, or FACT Act, he probably just filmed himself breaking federal law.

The FACE Act came into being in the wake of religious protesters outside of abortion clinics getting too spun up, resulting in the 1993 shooting death of Dr. David Gunn, whose practice also provided abortions. The legislation signed by Bill Clinton into law had bipartisan support in Congress, in part because included as a compromise to earn Republican support, one of the protections in the act included houses of worship against being intimidated, interfered with, threatened, or obstructed.

That part of the act has very rarely been prosecuted, because until Sunday, there’s never really been something quite like what Lemon and his fellow leftist Brown Shirts pulled in Saint Paul. Lemon cornered another congregant of Cities Church on his way out, and it didn’t go well for Lemon.

Interviewing himself in the car leaving the Church after his work there was finished, Lemon seemed quite pleased. If I did something like that to God as a Christian, I’m not sure I’d be too comfortable with my standing in that relationship.

Meanwhile, remember that apparent FACE Act violation caught on several cameras from multiple angles? Harmeet Dhillon, who runs the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, saw it, too.

Donald Trump saw it, too, and made a phone call to DOJ.

A short time later, Lemon seemed to at least begin to realize the potential legal jeopardy in which he put himself, and began to weasel his way out from under it.

Whatever it was that Don Lemon committed at Cities Church Sunday morning, journalism wasn’t among the list. Journalism is reporting events as they happen, not siding with the mob and making the victims feel uncomfortable. You’ll notice Lemon did not debate or question any of the protesters, because he there admittedly protesting in solidarity with them. He walked into the church with them, with his camera rolling, and stood on the floor of the sanctuary at a time when church was in session, specifically to intimidate the congregation. Again, in his own words, he claimed his right to upend the Church service was his Constitutional right to protest. Talk about admission against interest.

As for his defense of not being the actual protest organizer, a cursory review of the FACE Act does not hold that you have to be the ringleader in order to be charged with violating the law. As for his Constitutional right to protest and speak trumping the FACE Act, well, the FACE Act has already survived Constitutional review. Here’s the difference between Don Lemon’s view of Constitutional rights versus actual Constitutional rights. Don Lemon believes his Constitutional rights are supreme to anyone else’s that don’t comport with his ideological worldview. Actual Constitutional rights hold that Lemon’s rights end where mine, or more importantly, the congregation of Cities Church in Saint Paul’s, begin.

As a Christian, I will pray for the soul of Don Lemon, because it is simply not on a course of seeking the Way, the Truth, and the Life. It is one of the false religion of secular leftism above all else, with whatever faith that can be contorted and hemmed in to make him feel good about his actions, dilluted into the mix deeper down.

And I will pray for him after he is indicted by a federal grand jury, tried for his crimes, and found guilty by a jury of his peers for violating the FACE Act.

And then I will pray extra, extra hard not to personally revel in the fact that Lemon is behind bars for being an insufferable moron.
