If the Democrats kick David Hogg out of his leadership position at the Democratic National Committee because he is a white male, the jokes will write themselves.
Somebody figure out how to work in “Boss Hog,” please. I couldn’t think of one this morning.
Semafor has the scoop on an upcoming meeting of the Credentials Committee that will consider a complaint about the election of Hogg not complying with DNC rules about race, gender, and sexuality regulations the party uses to ensure “equity” in the party. Hogg, who is a heterosexual (I think) white male, won his slot as DNC Vice Chair of the party, doesn’t qualify–they say–to win his slot despite having received the votes to win.
You do have to admit that it is pretty funny that the most racially obsessed political party in the Western world managed to elect two white men to lead the party–and not just white, but marshmallow white at that. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that a rainbow coalition of race-baiters wants Hogg thrown out of his leadership position.
The scoop here is that a May 12 credentials meeting will hear the challenge, which was filed in February and didn’t make news at the time.

After the election, a candidate for Vice Chair complained that the election violated the rule because a white man beat three women of color for the position; what a perfect metaphor for how Democrats view “democracy.” Allowing people to vote for who they want to win is bad enough! Letting the vote stand based on the technicality that the winner got the most votes is almost criminal!
A candidate who failed to win a Democratic National Committee leadership role is challenging her defeat — the first threat to DNC Vice Chair David Hogg since he vowed to keep backing some primary challenges to incumbents.
The DNC’s credentials committee will meet virtually on May 12 to consider the challenge from Kalyn Free, a Native American attorney and party activist who lost a vice chair spot to Hogg at the party’s Feb. 1 meeting.
In her complaint, shared with Semafor by a Democratic source, Free argued that she lost a “fatally flawed election that violated the DNC Charter and discriminated against three women of color candidates,” and asks for “two new vice chair elections.” In February, after several rounds of voting, the race came down to five candidates – Kenyatta, Hogg, Free, and two other women. Kenyatta and Hogg claimed the open spots.
…
“By aggregating votes across ballots and failing to distinguish between gender categories in a meaningful way, the DNC’s process violated its own Charter and Bylaws, undermining both fairness and gender diversity,” argued Free, a citizen of the Choctaw Nation.
Nothing says unfair like women of color losing, and nothing is more precious than the “victims” Democrats valorize, turning around and accusing Democrats of being irredeemably racist. To be fair, the issue came up during the DNC election–the rules are so complicated that no sane person can fully understand them.
One of the nominees for Vice Chair at the DNC is “non-binary” so the Democrats had to quickly adjust the voting rules for “gender balance.”
Those rules are as confusing as you’d expect… pic.twitter.com/keDmU7lsFG

Did you get that? They do a headcount based on race, gender, non-gender, and perhaps status as a furry, as far as I can tell.
I think Hogg should identify as a Native American furrygender whose pronoun is “Woof,” so that he fits the description necessary to keep his job. By the Democrat rules, only the individual him/her/theirself can determine who they are.
Hogg has embraced his role as an inside-outside organizer, fighting back against critics who think unity is more important than overhauling how the party operates. Free is asking the party to vacate the elections of a gay black man (Kenyatta) and a straight white man (Hogg) so that a woman has a chance to win one of their jobs.
At issue, according to her challenge, is whether Democrats will fight for “free and fair elections” and fight against “discrimination of women and people of color.”
Is this a politically opportune fight for Democrats to have next month? It doesn’t matter. They’re going to clash anyway.
To add irony to irony, the Credentials Committee has an incentive to overturn Hogg’s election- he has a parallel job running an organization that will spend money to kick Democrats he doesn’t like out of office. The DNC poobahs may seize this opportunity to overturn the election of the candidate the voters chose and install a more pliable Vice Chair.
Which, when you think of it, is on-brand. For three election cycles in a row, they did the same thing with their presidential candidates.
