I need to take a break from my coverage of the left’s reaction and cover-up surrounding the motives of Charlie Kirk’s assassin. My anger was beginning to turn into rage, so I needed to take a deep breath before I dived back into the insanity. I will have more to say in my VIP column about the new spin on the killing, though.
So what do I choose to write about to settle my rage? This:

Ugh. The world has so many ugly people in positions of real power.
Dearborn, MI, is not so far from Detroit, and it is represented in Congress by the ever-so-vile Rashida Tlaib. It is no accident that one of the most dishonest antisemites in the United States Congress–she is a faithful representative of a majority of her constituents, who are also raging antisemites and truly illiberal people.
The mayor’s rant is insane for many reasons beyond his suggestion that one of his citizens drive with his eyes closed, although that, I admit, was the most bizarre suggestion. Does that explain why traffic is reportedly insane in many third-world countries? More striking is the fact that his slander of his constituent before he said that he should be kicked out of Dearborn was filled with lies about him, as was outlined by the Detroit Free Press.
The mayor was clearly very aware of this man’s social media posts, and as is so common these days, he simply lied about what he said. If you are interested in the litany of lies, head on over there to see each of them proven wrong.

The controversy centered around the honoring of Dearborn resident and founder of the Arab American News by the county, renaming a section of a street after him because of his “contributions to the community.” I don’t know much about the man’s “contributions to the community,” but I do know that he is an advocate of violence and celebrated designated terrorist organizations Hezbollah and Hamas, which seems incompatible with being officially honored by the government.

While the mayor screams about Islamophobia and argues that his constituents should be kicked out of the city, he conveniently ignores what Osama Siblani has actually said in front of crowds chanting for the death of Israelis.
Siblani’s radical track record in Dearborn—a heavily Muslim community known for being a hotbed of anti-Israel sentiment—includes numerous public appearances in which he praised Palestinian jihadi groups as “heroes,” lauded the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, and threatened to send Israeli Jews “back to Poland.”
During a September 2024 rally in Dearborn, when Israel was locked in a fierce fight against Hezbollah terrorists on its northern border, Siblani told a crowd chanting “death to Israel” that the terror group will “take care of the job” by eradicating the Jewish state, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), which monitors radical activity.
Siblani later told the crowd: “To [Israeli prime minister Benjamin] Netanyahu, who wants to bring [evacuated Israeli civilians back] to the north: We are going to take you back to Poland.”
At a 2022 “Nakba Day rally” meant to honor the “catastrophe” of Israel’s creation, Siblani said the Dearborn Muslim community will “lift Palestinians all the way to victory” and encouraged his supporters to “fight.”
“We are the Arabs who are going to lift Palestinians all the way to victory, whether we are in Michigan and whether we are in Jenin,” he said in remarks captured by MEMRI. “Believe me, everyone should fight within his means. They will fight with stones, others will fight with guns, others will fight with planes, drones, and rockets, others will fight with their voices, and others will fight with their hands and say: ‘Free, free Palestine!'”
At least the Poland reference–the site of the very worst concentration camps, including Auschwitz, didn’t mention them by name. So that’s nice.

Dearborn is America’s Jihad capital, and the promises of violence and calls for the imposition of Sharia law in America are heating up there. Now we have the mayor attacking a Christian and musing about expelling him from the city.
We keep on being told that diversity is our strength, and people like this enrich our culture and are the key to reaching Mars and curing cancer is to import more of them.
I’m not sure ot that, to be honest.
