Crime is Too Important to Be Left to Soros-Backed DAs – HotAir

Yesterday a site on X called Austin Justice wrote about a recent incident where a deranged man was banging on the door of an elementary school and threatening to harm children. This happened in October. But despite that incident and a longer list of other crimes, he has only been sent to prison one time.

Michael Nnaji has racked up 34 cases since 2019.

Nnaji was once caught in an apartment gym—completely nude except for sandals—admiring his physique in the mirrors. He then picked up a heavy kettlebell and hurled it repeatedly through a glass office door until it shattered.

Prosecutors dismissed it.

His record of leniency:

• Robbery was reduced to misdemeanor

• 7 felony Evading Arrests all dismissed or reduced

• 4 burglaries were all dismissed

He also made 84 illegal entries into one gas station in a single month.

His only trip to prison was a 2-year plea deal for aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, a crime that can get someone with priors 20 years easily.

After threatening to massacre elementary students in October 2025:

• Released on bond

• Skipped court

• Arrested Dec 3rd for trespassing at the same gas station

• Prosecutors DISMISSED the new trespass 5 days later, while he was a fugitive on the school threat case.

34 cases. 0 jury trials.

If you look at that list of case you’ll see that at least a dozen have been dismissed and several more were never charged. In the remaining cases, he would spend 25 days or 30 days or 50 days in jail. He’s just circulating through the system and mostly getting a pass. It probably doesn’t help that Austin has a very progressive prosecutor, José Garza, who became the county DA in 2020 with some help from PACs funded by George Soros.

The story must have caught Gov. Abbott’s attention because he suggested the idea of a statewide prosecutor who would be able to prevent people like Michael Nnaji from falling through the cracks.

Progressive DAs are literally leading to the murder of Texans.

Those DAs must be held accountable and prosecutorial power must be shifted to actual prosecutors.

Austin isn’t the only city in Texas with a Soros-backed DA.

Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza is just one of several leftist District Attorneys across Texas whose campaigns for office were boosted by billionaire megadonor George Soros, who is known for his efforts to transform the criminal justice system in a way that critics have characterized as protecting criminals.

Four of the five largest counties in Texas are represented by a Soros-funded District Attorney. In addition to Garza, Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare, Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot, and Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzalez have all received financial backing from Soros.

This idea got a big boost from Elon Musk who endorsed it as a great idea.

If it’s possible there, what about in other red states with blue cities?

Anyway, it’s not clear how long it would take to set this up. The Texas legislature only meets every 2 years, so the next time this could be brought up won’t be until Jan. 2027. However, the governor can call a special session whenever he wants to do so. This seems like a good reason to call one.
