Another Gaza Hoax Gets Exposed – HotAir

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again: I have no idea what is really happening in Gaza.

Obviously, you can’t assume that anything told to you by the belligerents is wholly accurate, and you particularly cannot accept the word of a terrorist organization that perpetrates hoaxes as a matter of strategy.

And, I will admit–despite my strong bias toward supporting Israel–that the Israeli government has all the incentive in the world to put their best foot forward when it comes to their use of military force in Gaza, so I apply appropriate skepticism to their claims.

But in a sane world, I could read what is reported by journalists and assume that they are not intentionally gaslighting me, but this is hardly a sane world. I have come to see that whatever gets reported is basically regurgitated Hamas propaganda. Their main source for casualty figures is the so-called “Gaza Health Ministry,” which is an arm of Hamas. The journalists on the ground are associated with or even employed by Hamas. And all the sources quoted are Hamas operatives.

The BBC funded and aired a documentary featuring the son of a Hamas Minister without informing us, and even the NGOs advocating for Gazans are Hamas sympathizers.

It’s frustrating.

Recently, we were flooded by accusations that a young Gazan boy was murdered in cold blood by the IDF. Pravda Media shoved this story in our faces, and it was used to discredit efforts by the US and Israel to deliver food and other aid to Gazans.

The story was horrific–and a total fabrication, as are so many others. The accusation originated with a contractor who had been fired by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, and it was repeated around the world.

The boy did disappear—after it was reported he was dead–out of fear for his life. He understood that his dead body would be very convenient to further the propaganda coup, so he and his mother hid.

But Fox tracked him down and has video to prove he is alive. They even interviewed the boy and his mother

In an exclusive interview with the boy whose real name was confirmed by the GHF to be Abdul Rahim Muhammad Hamden, but who goes by “Abboud,” the 8-year-old and his mother answered questions provided by Fox News Digital through a GHF translator, in which the pair appeared excited ahead of their planned extraction from the Gaza Strip.

Abboud and his mother, whose name is Najlaa, were safely extracted from the Gaza Strip on Thursday, though the location has not been disclosed in this reporting for their protection.

“Outside the Gaza Strip is nice,” Abboud said, according to a translation verified by Fox News Digital.

The story of Abboud went viral after a former GHF contractor, Anthony Aguilar, a 25-year veteran of the U.S. Army and retired Green Beret Lt. Col., said he saw the boy who he called “Amir” gunned down by IDF forces outside a GHF distribution site on May 28.

They know that this is the boy in question because, along with the accusations, was a body cam video from the accuser, supposedly taken just before he was killed. It is the same boy, who is now safely outside Gaza.

Variations on this sort of story come out of Gaza all the time. Many of the “children” reported as dead were teenage Hamas soldiers engaged in warfare against the IDF, and most of the civilian casualties result from Hamas either firing at soldiers from within crowds or even Hamas shooting civilians themselves.

The reason why the IDF now prefers GHF aid over UN aid is clear: most aid provided by other NGOs goes straight to Hamas for its own use, or to be sold to Gazans to fund the war effort. The UNRWA is constantly whinging that non-GHF aid is being hampered, while leaving out this little tidbit.

Video evidence, however, later revealed that Aguilar’s only interaction with the child was brief and dismissive, instructing him to “Go home.” Abood returned home unharmed. But Aguilar’s lie went viral—shared by journalists, influencers, and even elected officials, putting the boy and his family in possible danger from Hamas.

GHF immediately launched a discreet search for the boy. Through trusted community relationships, the organization traced him to his extended family and ultimately to his biological mother. His identity was confirmed through multiple methods, including biometrics and the clothing he wore the day Aguilar falsely claimed to witness his death.

The successful effort involved extensive coordination with the U.S. Embassy in Israel and regional governments, who worked with GHF to ensure Abood’s safe relocation.

And why wouldn’t they? The UNRWA partners with Hamas, and UNRWA doctors and teachers actually held some of the hostages.

As I have said many times, slowing the Israeli advance into Gaza is the biggest reason there has been a humanitarian crisis, whatever its scope. Long wars are always worse on civilians than shorter ones, and the most compassionate thing one can do is to facilitate a quick victory in war.

Reconstruction begins only after the war ends. This is a lesson as old as war itself.

Instead, Western leaders have placed obstacle after obstacle in front of the IDF, as if a long war were the point. They are preparing to reward Hamas with official recognition and condemn Israel at every turn.

Israel is going to carry on the war to its conclusion. Best it be done quickly.
