The Pennsylvania senator I used to liken to Slingblade has been on one of his plain-spoken, unfiltered tears lately, thanks to Operation Epic Fury.
And, man – has he been great to watch in action.
Heads have been exploding about this guy all week long, every time he opened his mouth to the press. Which was, of course, a ton, because they can’t resist his roguish charms.
JUST KEEP KILLING THEM UNTIL THEY’RE GONE
Sen. John Fetterman firmly backed President Donald Trump’s war on Iran in separate television appearances, including one in which he said it was “entirely appropriate” for Israel to continuing killing Iranian leaders if the country continues to be a regional threat.
“Just keep killing them until they’re gone,” Fetterman said Wednesday on CNN, reported Yahoo! News.
Fetterman was responding to Israel’s threat to kill successors to the assassinated Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei if the regime does not change its approach.
“I absolutely support that,” he said. “I think that’s entirely appropriate until hopefully they’ll pick someone that realizes that they need to live and coexist in peace in the region and stop trying to destroy Israel and to stabilize the region.”
Appearing on MSNOW on Wednesday, Fetterman repeated his new catchphrase about being a “committed Democrat” while still supporting Trump’s military offensive.
There was a vote on Thursday morning to reopen the government. Important things like the Department of Homeland Security, paying the Coast Guard, and making sure TSA is staffed and paid. Stuff like that in the middle of combat operations against the chief architect of terror in the world for nearly the past fifty years.
Only one Democrat crossed the aisle, and without even telling you, you would have probably been able to guess who it was.
Yeah – that guy.
🚨 BREAKING: US Senate REJECTS effort to reopen the Department of Homeland Security in a 51-45 vote, despite an ACTIVE threat of terrorist sleeper cells amid conflict with Iran

The same guy who came out of a briefing with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and told reporters that blowing up 80 or so mullahs (moo-lahs he pronounced it) was actually ‘pretty great’…
🚨 JOHN FETTERMAN after being briefed on Iran by Secretary Rubio:
“I think they just blew up 80 of Iran’s mullahs too. Which, I mean, that was pretty great actually!”
Dude’s gonna get himself kicked out of the Democrat party 🤣🔥 pic.twitter.com/P4XiffIZ4H

…and then went to work the next day to help Republicans torpedo Ro Khanna’s War Power Resolution restricting President Trump’s authority.
Fetterman worked hand in glove with his state’s other senator, as he often does, to the pained consternation of Democrats and progressives. Even this article ends with a WAAH! statement ‘Democrats in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware have mostly been outspoken in decrying the war against Iran‘ and a helpful list emphasizing just how out of touch that darn Fetterman is…dammit.
An effort to constrain President Donald Trump’s power to continue the war in Iran failed Wednesday in the U.S. Senate.
U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., joined U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Pa., and other Republicans in voting against advancing the war powers resolution, allowing the conflict to continue.
…As expected, Fetterman split with his party after spending the first few days of the conflict defending U.S. strikes on Iran and telegraphing his decision to be a “hard no” on the resolution. McCormick, who also defended the war in Iran, has gone on the offensive against Democrats, accusing the party of “political theater” for blocking funding for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Hakeem Jeffries had his sniffy nose out of joint under that sombrero, and the crop of fine candidates representing the progressive wing now running the Democratic party weighed in with their onionskin-deep thoughts about the Pennsylvania senator’s bold stands.
…“Well, John Fetterman knows better,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries told CNN on Monday. “Article I of the Constitution explicitly provides Congress with the authority to declare war. Period, full stop.”
Meanwhile, progressives like Graham Platner and Saikat Chakrabarti said that any lawmaker who adopts Fetterman’s approach “should lose their seat. “
“A man who has never seen war and never will,” Platner wrote of Fetterman.
Seriously, dudes, Sen. Fetterman said. It’s been like 100 hours so far. What the heck’s the rush?
The US Senate just rejected a Democratic effort to halt the war in Iran.
John Fetterman, the lone Democrat siding with the President, told Chad Pergram he questions why the vote went ahead: “The War Powers Resolution is 60 days and we’re 100 hours into this.” pic.twitter.com/pl9v4kmNNW

WHERE HAS ANYTHING BEEN BROKEN? WHERE HAVEN’T THEY MET EVERY STANDARD?
Whenever Collins or Murkowski vote with Democratsthe media claims bipartisanship
WATCH how they go after Fetterman for crossing the aisle and voting against the War Powers Resolution
Hit that like button if you appreciate that Fetterman stood with the troops & voted with them… pic.twitter.com/Bri87QNAnx

So tremendous a response and delivered so reasonably.
Zero reasonable answers in return.
And then, last night on Jesse Watters’ show, he just won my heart all over again.
I’M ALWAYS GOING TO PICK MY COUNTRY OVER MY PARTY
🚨 NEW: Senator John Fetterman just SLAMMED Democrats for not BACKING the War against Iran 🚨
“It’s better that the Ayatollah’s been killed. But Democrats are afraid to just agree with Trump on ANYTHING.” 🔥

“I’m always going to pick my country over my party and I’m always going to acknowledge when a good thing has happened”
“The Democratic Party has been WRONG about the dynamic in the Middle East”
That is such a radical statement from a Democrat, and make no mistake, Fetterman IS a Democrat at heart.
But that’s okay – I like him that way.
He’s also got Trump’s back with a vote for the new Secretary of DHS he’s considering nominating: fellow Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma.
As a member of the Homeland Security Committee + Ranking Member of Subcommittee on Border Security:
I’m not sure how many fellow Democrats will vote to support our colleague @SenMullin as the next DHS Secretary, but I am AYE.

They’re friends, you see. How often do you hear that anymore?
Reporter: “Fetterman says he’s going to vote for you.”
Sen. Mullin: “John already texted me. We’re friends.”
Amazing how Sen. Fetterman turned out to be the normal Democrat. pic.twitter.com/7SdiF9sS3m

Those two guys have no problems saying it in public and acting like civilized human beings when they don’t agree.
Today, the big Pennsylvania senator started off Friday morning in fine form.
Because your party is broken. But thank you for standing up for what’s right.

Of course, there are still wild theories about the change that’s settled over this man since we first met him years ago.
🚨NEW: Adam Carolla: “Fetterman — maybe because he had a stroke — is the ONLY Democrat that’s actually intellectually HONEST. Maybe it killed that part of your brain that f*cking lies all the time about everything.”@DailyCaller pic.twitter.com/tZaE90Cxem
— Jason Cohen 🇺🇸 (@JasonJournoDC) March 5, 2026
I’m not a doctor or even a therapist – I only play one once in a while here at HotAir.
Fetterman is basically your average mainstream Democrat before Trump (2025). He’s so outside of the party only 10 years later that they have to assume he’s brain damaged or a Manchurian candidate…… https://t.co/LREKguFMm7
— EducatëdHillbilly™ (@RobProvince) March 5, 2026
But if I had to hazard a highly uneducated guess about the stroke’s dramatic effects on John Fetterman, I’d say that it looks as if a lot of contrary internal pressure had been building, finally vented in a massive release, and he’s experienced the ultimate factory reset.
He is awfully comfortable living in the updated version – as if it were meant to be all along.
