Ten Years After the Bataclan Massacre, Terrorist Ideology Rules Paris – HotAir

There were six coordinated terror attacks in Paris the night of 13 November 2015.

At 9:20, at the Stade du France, a suicide bomber detonates a vest outside the stadium where the French team is playing a match against Germany after being denied entrance by security personnel. The bomber and an innocent bystander are killed

Shortly thereafter, another suicide bomber blows himself up at a different stadium exit. The French president is hustled from the venue.

…The game, attended by President Francois Hollande, was being broadcast on TV. After a second man detonated his suicide vest outside a different stadium entrance at 21:30, the president was rushed to safety.

At almost 10 p.m., a third bomber blows his vest at what they called a ‘fast-food’ stand near the stadium.

Other attacks were happening in concert with the stadium explosions.

Meanwhile, other attacks were unfolding nearer to the centre of town, around popular nightlife spots. The first took place at about 21:25 in the 10th district (arrondissement), not far from the Place de la Republique.

The gunmen arrived at the scene in a black Seat car, later found abandoned, about three miles (nearly 5km) away in the eastern suburb of Montreuil.

Witnesses at Le Carillon bar, 18 rue Alibert, said they initially thought a firecracker had gone off before realising that they were under fire from semi-automatic rifles.

“People dropped to the ground. We put a table over our heads to protect us,” said Ben Grant, who was with his wife at the back of the bar.

At 21:32, diners were in front of the Cafe Bonne Biere and La Casa Nostra pizzeria in rue de la Fontaine au Roi, and at 21:36 at another bar in the 11th District.

…Witnesses said that the attackers arrived in a black Seat. Two men opened fire on the terrace of the cafe.

“It lasted at least three minutes,” one witness said. “Then they got back in their car and headed towards Charonne station.”

At 21:40, a suicide bomber blew himself up at the Boulevard Voltaire, and another person was ‘severely injured.’

Just down the Boulevard Voltaire, the 1500-seat Bataclan concert hall had been sold out for an event that night. A US metal band, Eagles of Death Metal, was playing and everyone was rockin’ to the tunes when three gunmen wearing suicide vests and shouting ‘Allahu Akbar,’ stormed in, firing weapons into the crowd at 21:40.

…One of the attackers was said to have shouted “God is great” in Arabic. One witness heard a gunman blaming President Hollande for intervening in Syria. It was the first clear evidence that Paris was once again being targeted by Islamists.

“We thought it was fireworks but then there were men shooting in all directions. So we all lay on the floor and started crawling towards the stage,” one woman said.

Some escaped via an emergency exit to the left of the stage. Others managed to find a route onto the roof.

By the time the elite police units ended what turned out to be a massacre of epic proportions at the theater, 132 people had been murdered and more than 400 injured in the deadly city-wide rampage.

The terrorists took hostages during their time in the concert hall using them as shields from the police, and toying and torturing them.

…In that silence, they heard the sick attackers laughing as they aimed and shot at people through a nearby window, their victims screaming as a hostage situation that Sébastien ended up becoming part of was unfolding.

Cops who had entered the building heard the ex-reporter speak. He had been made a spokesman by the terrorists and told the police that there were two gunmen wearing explosive vests holding around 20 of them captive.

He shouted from the other side of the door and asked the officers to stop, saying the captives would be killed or beheaded if the police advanced.

‘They gave us their sermon, their speech, the why they were there,’ Sébastien told RTL radio, describing what the terrorists said.

‘They explained to us that the bombs being dropped on Syria were the reason why they were there. They said they were doing to us Westerners what we were doing to them over there.’

The hostages were ordered to keep guard at the windows, telling the police to stay away.

They were also used as ‘human shields’ and forced to sit by the door, where French cops might have inadvertently shot them.

In testimony that emerged during the investigation, horrific stories were finally told of the barbarism in those few hours of unimaginable terror. Abusing the hostages in the concert hall in the worst, sickest, most unimaginable ways until one thinks of October 7, and sadly, they are too familiar.

The Islamic State terrorists who attacked the Bataclan theater in Paris last November not only killed scores of innocents — they also gouged out the eyes and sliced up the genitals of some of the victims, according to testimony in a disturbing French report.

Some victims’ bodies from the second floor of the theater had been beheaded, eviscerated and otherwise mutilated, according to two secondhand accounts reported to a parliamentary commission set up to investigate the attack.

The investigation’s chair, conservative lawmaker Georges Fenech, complained to the commission that details of the mutilations have been kept from families and the press, according to an online transcript.

He also said he had heard of one especially grievous account: The father of one victim had told him that his son had been disemboweled and castrated, with his testicles found in his mouth.

The horrors.

In the middle of Paris.

The commission judge said,The terrorists did not just want to kill – they wanted to dehumanize. The mutilations were deliberate and ritualistic.’

And sadistic.

At least some of the younger French generation know what they are facing. They know the barbarians have breached the gates.

So many do not.

I wonder how such horror so swiftly becomes ‘some people did something,’ and is dismissed.

And what should be a lesson and a warning is never learned, while those who do remember become the bad guys.
