Congratulations, Democrats, on your 2025 rebranding into the Marxist Palestinian Party. Five stars. No notes.
Just minutes after election results confirmed Zohran Mamdani would become New York City’s next mayor, vandals tagged the Magen David Yeshiva in Brooklyn with swastikas. The school is part of Sephardic Jewish community that overwhelmingly voted for Andrew Cuomo, JTA notes, along with Mamdani’s reaction:
“This is a disgusting and heartbreaking act of antisemitism, and it has no place in our beautiful city,” wrote Mamdani in a post on X. “As Mayor, I will always stand steadfast with our Jewish neighbors to root the scourge of antisemitism out of our city.”
Hmmmm. The call of anti-Semitism is coming from within the house of Mandani’s party, as it turns out. As Mamdani offered crocodile tears over the attack on a Jewish community, the Democratic Socialists of America issued their platform for the upcoming Mandani administration. Jerry Dunleavy reported on it for Just the News:
The “Socialists in Office” website says that it is a group of “DSA endorsed elected officials that works together in the New York State legislature to advance a socialist vision for working class people across our state” — and features Mamdani. A recently unearthed clip from 2023 shows Mamdani telling the DSA national conference — which he was the keynote speaker for — that “when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it has been laced by the IDF.”
Just the News obtained an internal planning document from the NYC-DSA’s Anti-War Working Group (AWWG) which shows the group has spent weeks plotting how to pressure the new Mamdani administration to carry out their socialist “demands” — including demands to push an anti-Israel agenda at New York City Hall.
The document from the group, obtained by Just the News, is titled “AWWG Palestine Policy Meeting Meeting Agenda & Notes” — and it contains the internal plans of the DSA working group. The document was obtained when a Just the News reporter used his real name to RSVP to an AWWG meeting that was listed as open to the public.
This reporter was sent a Zoom link to join, and a Google document containing the AWWG strategy document, reproduced below, was publicly shared in the Zoom chat. The link to the document has since been disabled.
That’s akin to closing the barn door after the colt has bolted. The DSA has good reason to worry about this document getting exposed, although frankly, not as many reasons as Democrats who backed Mamdani do. This agenda reflects the de rigueuer agenda of the radical Left, especially on Israel, but Democrats have spent the last several months trying to claim it has nothing to do with them:

Dunleavy also has the “AWWG Palestine Policy Meeting Meeting [sic] Agenda & Notes” uploaded to the Just the News servers at this link. Here are a few of the ‘highlights’ of this agenda, which Dunleavy also puts into the body of his report:
“Divest City pension funds from Israeli bonds and securities,”
“Withdraw City funds from banks that lend money to Israel or do business in Israel,”
“End City contracts with companies that do business with Israel,”
“Operate City-run grocery stores free from Israeli products,”
“Investigate real estate agents hosting illegal sales of stolen lands in the West Bank,”
It’s the basic agenda of the Boycott Divestment Sanctions (BDS) Movement, albeit with this twist:
“Remove non-profit status from charities that raise funds for IDF,” “End NYPD training with IOF,” and
“Arrest Netanyahu and active IDF soldiers for war crimes.”
Ahem. Perhaps the DSA is just a group of really clueless optimists, but mayors and cities do not have any jurisdiction over the tax status of charities. Also, as Dunleavy explains, “IOF” is not a typo. Democratic Socialists use IOF as an alternative for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF); the acronym IOF stands for “Israeli Occupation Forces,” which puts the DSA in the position of refusing to recognize Israel as a nation. They are squarely behind the whole “from the river to the sea” slogan, in other words, although it’s not clear why they use both terms in this agenda.
Also, the city has no jurisdiction over the arrests of diplomats and/or individuals for their actions outside of New York City. This demand is not only deranged, it’s completely outside of the authority of the mayor — unless the mayor is about to commit an act of insurrection by rejecting legal federal authority.
None of this is particularly surprising. Marxists adopted the Palestinian cause decades ago, especially with Yasser Arafat’s socialist-drenched PLO. Dunleavy notes several declarations from the DSA over the past year expressing solidarity with the radical Palestinian cause; click through to read them all. The most notable of these is a resolution from the national DSA endorsing the establishment of a “Fighting Anti-Zionist DSA,” which certainly implies the use of violence.
The real story here is how the Democrat Party embraced all of this when it wrapped its arms around Mamdani. AOC and Bernie Sanders campaigned for him; Alex Soros funded his campaign. The DSA has become a forward outpost of the Democrat Party. They bought Mamdani, and then they sold Mamdani to New York City voters. And now the DSA has an opening to impose its radical and anti-Semitic agenda on America’s largest city and one of the largest Jewish communities outside of Israel, thanks to Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries, Elizabeth Warren, Kathy Hochul, Pramila Jayapal, and of course, AOC and Bernie.
