We May Never Know Motives in Kirk and Annunciation Shootings – HotAir

I am really tired of saying that no matter how much you hate the media, it is not nearly enough.

But there it is. By now, you should almost assume that Satan runs our cultural institutions.

If you want to know why I call our “mainstream” institutions “Pravda,” watch this:

Literally EVERYBODY in the world knows why Charlie Kirk was shot, and the motive of the Annunciation shooter is as clear as day.

It’s just that the motives don’t fit The Narrative™, so CBS is demanding, once again, that you believe them and their chosen “expert” rather than your lying eyes.

I would never say that everything you read and see in Pravda Media is a lie–that would be inaccurate. It is much more accurate to say that everything they say is motivated, which is different. Sometimes what they say is a direct lie or hoax, and sometimes they pick and choose what they do and don’t tell you in order to create a narrative that they will try to convince you is a reflection of reality.

Only in the most extreme circumstances will they admit a truth that is inconvenient, but even in those cases, they go to the “modified limited hangout,” which is a term that came out of the CIA during the Watergate scandal–admit a partial truth in order to make it seem like you are laying all your cards on the table.

You saw a version of the modified limited hangout after the Biden/Trump debate. They went from “sharp as a tack” and “cheap fakes” to “It’s a cold” to “maybe he is slipping” to “Sure, Biden was senile, but we were lied to.”

The truth was simpler: they all knew, just as most of us who knew better than to trust the media, and they did everything to cover up Biden’s decline. When the story couldn’t be maintained, they threw Biden’s advisors under the bus.

Trotting out a hand-picked “expert” to validate a Narrative™ is a favorite tactic. In this case, they brought out a big gun–one of the Narrative enforcers of the past several years–the Institute for Countering Digital Extremism. They are part of the shadowy network of NGOs that has been policing speech over the past few years. You know, the people who keep conservatives from speaking by calling us extremists or misinformers.

The “we may never know” line is the limited hangout, with the twist that it spreads the blame around in the manner that the left has been trying to do. He may be a Groyper! Perhaps he is just a nihilist. That whole Antifa thing and telling his buddies in chat rooms that he hates Charlie Kirk because of his position on transgender issues means nothing.

Annunciation School? Same thing. That the shooter was trans and hated Catholics? Means nothing! That he left screeds about trans issues and being radicalized…geez, he could just be a nihilist. Shooting up kids at Mass is just a coincidence.

I have to remind myself that I shouldn’t expect a sense of shame over lying from these people. Of course they don’t, because they don’t see telling people the truth as their job. They are propagandists, and lying to us is their job. The more lies the better, as long as they work on their intended audience.

As for their credibility? It’s pretty clear that few journalists are interested in general credibility. They have an audience they are trying to reach, and they are still reaching it, mostly. They are giving psychological comfort for people who don’t want to admit that the left-wing orthodoxy is not just questionable, but actively evil.

We have yet to see whether this particular hoax will gain traction. It has muddied the waters a bit, but unlike many recent hoaxes, the pushback has been loud and sustained, and many centrist Democrats are appalled by the celebrations of Kirk’s murder they saw with their own eyes.

Many people noted soon after Kirk’s assassination that this time felt different, and their feelings have been validated by how sustained and worldwide the reaction to Kirk’s murder has been. Vigils have sprouted up around the world, and ordinary people are suddenly activated.

To misquote a line from the Hunter Biden laptop hoax, this spontaneous reaction has “all the earmarks” of a turning point event. Perhaps not quite the scale of the 1989 fall of the Berlin Wall, when people in communist countries woke up to the fact that they were not powerless to resist, but something much closer to that than the resignation we usually see when awful things happen and we are lied to about it.

Go to X and search “vigil,” and you will be blown away by how many people around the world have awakened to the fact that Charlie was right: we are in a spiritual war.

God is working through Charlie, it seems, and this just might be the “turning point” he was aiming for.

Propaganda often works, but it sure looks like the power unleashed this time might be immune to it. We all saw what happened, and much more importantly, we saw how liberals reacted to it. All the words in the world can’t erase what we saw.

Spiritual battles are never “won,” because they transcend politics, and our enemy is not a nation or an army but something much deeper and darker that appeals to the worst in people. We all know who the real enemy is, and only God can defeat him utterly.

But we might just win the battle for this generation and the next, and that is all that anybody can ask of us.
