Gavin Newsom is living up to his nickname, Gavin Newscum.
Currently, his social media dream team is having a ball trying to out-Trump Trump, doing parodies of Trump tweets, trying to get under the skin of Trump and MAGA folks.

They think they are doing so, which tells you a lot about how good a job they are doing keeping their fingers on the pulse of America. There are plenty of MAGA folks who are vaguely disgusted by Newsom’s posts, but the overwhelming emotion I see is contempt for how stupid the whole campaign is.

At least that was until Newsom’s team started dropping assassination memes, making fun not just of Trump’s getting shot–typical Democrat “I don’t approve of violence, but…” stuff–but actually making the death of a father and patriot the butt of a joke because they believe it will “own” the cons.

The same people who pushed “Brat Summer” on us are at it again. They are trying to gin up an organic social media campaign using the same tactics that worked so well for Kamala. Brat summer put her into the White House, as I recall.

This time around, the project is working out less well than it did for Kamala, at least so far. The terminally online are working overtime to make this a “thing,” but not everyone in the establishment is as willing to sign up for a second season of a failing show.

Brat summer had the virtue of just being stupid and inauthentic. Assassination porn is actually repulsive to everybody who isn’t a bloodthirsty leftist. Unfortunately, that is not an insignificant portion of the Democratic base, but fortunately, it is hardly a big enough slice to get anybody the nomination.

Newsom is currently competing with Pete Buttigieg for the top spot in the Democratic presidential nomination. Newsom is staking out his position in the total douchebag lane, and Pete is in the beta-male/geek lane. Kamala, of course, is still in the running and nominally in the top slot, but nobody is taking that seriously.

Buttigieg is at least a genuine nebbish, not a fake strongman like Gavin.

Democrats can’t wrap their heads around the fact that they aren’t in trouble because they haven’t found the right “style.” It’s their policies that people hate. Countless people voted for Trump not because of his style, but despite it. They looked at what the Democrats have done to the country and shouted, “No more!”
The meme that the Democrats are the theater kids is spot on. Everything is a performance.

He has started numerous “projects” to fight homelessness, calling them “game changers”. Billions have been spent, resulting in more homeless.

They believe that saying the right things in the right way is an accomplishment. It’s all theatrics without substance.
Which is how Newsom has gotten to the place where he is literally making fun of an assassination attempt. Assassinations seem popular in his party now–Luigi!–and nothing else has worked for him.
