Six Flags Entertainment said it’s selling six amusement parks across the U.S. and one in Canada for a total of $331 million.
The parks being sold off are:
- Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minnesota
- Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Missouri
- Six Flags St. Louis in Eureka, Missouri
- Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston in Texas
- Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, Michigan
- Six Flags Great Escape in Queensbury, New York
- Six Flags La Ronde in Montreal
In 2025, the seven parks had 4.5 million guests, with $260 million in net revenue and $45 million in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, Six Flags said.
Six Flags will be operating 34 remaining parks in its portfolio in 23 North American locations this year.
The seven parks were bought by real estate investment trust EPR Properties, which said it will lease out the parks to separate companies that will operate each facility.
The six U.S. parks will be operated by Enchanted Parks, which already runs Water Safari Resort in Old Forge, New York, and Diggerland USA in West Berlin, New Jersey.
Six Flags La Ronde will be operated by La Ronde Operations Inc., EPR Properties said.
EPR Properties now owns the branded property names for the three parks that do not have the Six Flags name and is entitled to use the Six Flags brand for the other four parks through 2026.
Six Flags Entertainment CEO John Reilly said in the announcement that “this divestiture enables us to concentrate our capital, leadership and operational focus on the properties that we believe generate the strongest returns and offer the greatest long-term upside.”
