Hypocrisy in politics is about as surprising as gambling in Casablanca. Everybody does it, and nobody wants to admit it in public for obvious reasons. 

As with all vices, there is a level that is necessary to live with because it is human nature, and as with all vices, there is a level beyond which society is threatened. There is no “line,” but the further one goes beyond what is healthy, the sicker society becomes. A regular drinker becomes an alcoholic, in a sense. 





It’s fair to say that liberals have entered the metaphorical “alcoholic” phase when it comes to political hypocrisy. 

No, I am not claiming that Republicans aren’t hypocrites, but for all the complaints about Trump and MAGA, the least credible is that they are terribly hypocritical. They say what they mean, and mean what they say. There’s not a lot of moralizing. When Trump means “s**thole country,” he just says it. “Deport them all” may not sound nice, but it’s not exactly obscuring anything either. 

Democrats, though, talk all high and mighty about “nobody” being above the law, political “norms,” and “defending democracy,” but spend all their time encouraging their followers to break the law, quit following orders in the military, and about how the majority of voters in the country are deplorable and therefore good people should #resist the elected president. 

Federal law enforcement is the Gestapo; Minnesota is at “war” with the federal government; investigating billions of dollars in fraud is “racist” and so on. 

To call it hypocrisy doesn’t do it justice. We have moved into the realm of total gaslighting. 





The Biden administration spent years trying to put Trump and his allies in jail, and now they are screaming lawfare. Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro were put in jail for refusing to honor Congressional subpoenas (they were wrong to do so IMHO), but Hunter Biden spent no time in jail for the same offense, and now Bill and Hillary Clinton are doing the same thing, and Democrats will go to the mat for them. 

The most popular Democrat podcaster, who has been lionized by all the Pravda Media as a fighter for truth and justice, is pushing to pack the Supreme Court, arrest Trump, his supporters, and law enforcement (lots of Democrats are warning that the next Democratic Party president will arrest federal agents who are enforcing the law). 

Remember all that talk about “due process” for MS-13 gang members who have deportation orders? Well, they get due process, but Republicans and federal law enforcement officers go straight to jail after we stack the courts. 

Is this defending democracy? Really? 

We are far past the point of hypocrisy and into the realm of directly attacking the foundation of our government’s legitimacy.
