Nothing Says ‘Chicago’ Like a Little Loopy Mayhem – HotAir

I haven’t had a chance to ping on the Bear of Little Brains, Chicago’s mayor, Brandon Johnson, in a while, and since it seems to be daffy, worthless, and dangerous progressive mayor day for me, what the heck.

The sad thing about these inept, self-absorbed losers is that it doesn’t take a whole lot of effort to find something that gives lie to all the smack they talk about how wonderful things are in their city. And how the few ills they do suffer locally are the fault of someone else, lately of orangish hue.

This somber Bear video from just a few days ago has his little brain engaging his big mouth while intoning how the shooting of the Minnesota protester is ‘all too similar to incidents that have transpired here in Chicago.

Yes, ladies and germs – according to hizzoner, the most dangerous thing on the streets of the Windy City is ICE and not the slippery black kind.

No community deserves to be subjected to the terror that’s stemming from this president’s use of I.C.E

He sure has a way with words.

ICE is more dangerous to the Bear of Little Brains’ constituents than, say, DIS GUY, named Piere Thorne.

Somehow, I don’t think so, even though he is a Loop regular.

Regular assailant, that is.

Around 9:45 a.m. on December 8, 2022, a 53-year-old man was walking in the 100 block of West Madison Street when Piere Thorne attacked him from behind with a metal object, according to prosecutors.

Court records state that Thorne, 32, grabbed the object, possibly a metal pipe, from the ground, walked behind the victim, whom he did not know, and struck him in the back of the head. The victim immediately fell to the sidewalk and began bleeding heavily from the back of his head. Prosecutors said he suffered additional injuries to his face when he struck the ground.

In a court filing, prosecutors said his injuries included the loss of several teeth, multiple fractures to his face and jaw, an injury to his nose, lacerations to his chin and exterior scalp, and an abrasion to his left eye. The victim required multiple reconstructive surgeries, and his face has been permanently disfigured, according to prosecutors.

How regular? Well, in Brandon Johnson’s Chicago, Mr. Thorne, who had 57 arrests and a number of misdemeanor convictions for random assaults by the time of his 30th birthday, will be back on the Loop pursuing his favorite pastime in no time.

Literally. I hope everyone else enjoyed the break from his company while they had it.

…Now, Thorne has resolved the case by pleading guilty to a single count of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm. Judge Joanne Rosado sentenced him to four years in prison. However, after receiving credit for 752 days he spent in jail and the standard 50% sentence reduction, Thorne will not spend any time in prison.

He’ll be back to form and swinging pipes in no time, which is how the mayor wants it. You can’t ‘incarcerate the violence out of people.’

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) trains are holding up nicely, as far as their safety record goes. They still don’t have one.

Everyone knows it but the Bear.

Johnson’s all about residents taking the train, and residents are all about trying to make it home alive.

A man is expected to appear for a detention hearing after he was charged with a fatal stabbing at a CTA Blue Line station in the Loop over the weekend.

Demetrius Thurman, 40, was arrested Sunday in the 200 block of South Canal Street and charged with first degree murder, Chicago police said.

On Saturday, Dominique Pollion, 37, was at the Clark and Lake station at 124 W. Lake St. when he was stabbed by someone around 2:30 a.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

But Mayor Johnson has bigger issues on his plate. The man has responsibilities that would crush an ordinary white human. He also has a city on the brink of financial ruin and has to find a way to prioritize spending needs, while maintaining the money stream flowing to his Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) overlords.

So transit cops cost money, and after spending on his own 150 Chicago cop personal security detail, that doesn’t leave much to work with as far as bolstering those numbers. Besides, something more important has come up.

The Bear and his toadies on the Chicago City Council are on an expensive bughunt for a real criminal – who leaked the details of the meeting where the tax increase was voted on?

That was supposed to be a super duper, top-secret stab-in-the-back meeting.

And, man – are council members and the mayor pissed off they got busted.

I hope whoever that courageous soul was is in some sort of witness protection program already, for their sake.

What they did imperiled union money, and that’s like begging for Nazguls to start sniffing the road for you.

Only in Chicago, they’d make sure someone like Mr. Thorne was on the sidewalk waiting when you came out for work.

Those unincarcerated repeat offender storm troops come in handy.
